Model 422 Problem

I bought my 4" Model 422 back in the early 80's. I might have a few hundred rounds through it.

3-4 weeks ago I reassembled it after the recommended cleaning per the manual, just like I have done many times in the past. Now it won't cycle reliably. If it does cycle and eject the spent brass, it won't cock the hammer.

I'd like to take or send it to an experienced 422 gunsmith for repairs, adjustment, ???

Any recommendations? I'm in central Oklahoma.

Just a guess, but could you have installed the the top clip backwards?

I'm not sure of the correct part name, but it's the little "U" shaped clip on the top center of the slide. It has to be lifted off before the slide can be removed. It will install backwards.

I did check and no, the Recoil Guide Plug is not the problem. Thanks for trying!
