Ammo, first, welcome to the forum.
Secondly, use the search feature. This has come up and I don't remember if the poster found a solution. I believe they tried the revolver sight and it didn't work. At least, not as is.

I've looked at a lot of S+W sights, never have found one that would interchange. Are you missing the rear sight completely? If so the best option is to buy a complete slide assembly, they pop up from time to time on EBAY and Gunbroker. There is a new one on EBAY right now with some other parts for $189 which is way high. You can also get a brand new one from Numrich for $229 which is also way high IMO.
ETA all of the revolver sights I have seen are pricey as well, so cost wise even if you found one, it won't be cheap.

Ammo, Shoot Summ is an authority on these with extensive personal experience. If he doesn't have a source, I can't imagine who would.

422 sight
I installed a Pachmayr adjustable rear sight on mine and it fits great. It is Pachmyar part number PAS 22SW-2. It comes with the allen wrench to change it also.
Not sure if it is still available through Pachmayr but you might check Amazon also.

Tenn, that probably fits into a dovetail, yes? Ammo has a factory adjustable sight that has no dovetail.

Thanks for the help guys. The gun belongs to a customer that inherited it from his father-in-law. It's missing everything. Even the elevation detent and threaded disc for the attachment screw. From what I could tell all the parts of the sight were available from Gun Parts except the base. Didn't see anything about a complete assembly but I'll check again. Found one on Ebay but it was already sold, I'll keep checking there. Hadn't thought about GunBroker. I had thought about adapting a revolver sight to it but it would probably be to expensive for my customer's wallet. Also thought about dovetailing the slide and putting a target sight from William's on it but looking at the slide there doesn't appear to be enough meat there. Beginning to think the expense of the project may be more than my customer expected. Maybe wasting my time but I'll keep looking. Again thanks for the help.

I have the parts to fix it in my personal stash, but unfortunately I'm not willing to part with them. I save them to buy and fix pistols such as this. So that said if your Customer is interested in selling the 422 let me know.

Ammo, I think your customer's best option is to check the auction sites frequently and get a complete slide with the adjustable sights.
Word of CAUTION: be advised that the front blade milled on the frame for an adjustable sight MAY BE a different height than the fixed sights. I don't have anything handy to check them. Maybe somebody else can check and advise. I know this has been an issue in some circumstances. Particularly when switching an after market adjustable sight in the factory dovetail for the fixed sight.
Bottom line, it would be best not to try buying a slide with fixed sights to swap.
Look for a complete factory adjustable slide and then once found, sell the old one for parts. Difference in price should be the least expensive option. YMMV

Hi all.
I hope you don't mind me asking this on this thread. I am looking for a firing pin for my Model 422. The catch is that I'm in Ireland. Gunparts have it as do Brownells however they don't post to Ireland. My question is mainly for anyone in Europe, how do I get this part legally to my doorstep?

Shopping around on Gunpartscorp this morning, on the last page of the 2213 parts they list the target adjustable leaf sight(rivet on) for about $64 in stock...

Sorry to be so late getting back here. Been looking everywhere for for a replacement sight with no luck. Have about decided the only way to go is to install a new sight system, front and rear, if I can find one that will work. The slide is only about 5/8" wide and most sight I have found have been closer to 3/4". If I can find a sight with a shallow dovetail(.100 or less) I believe it can be installed just forward of the notch in the rear of the slide. The front sight would have to be removed and a matching dovetail sight could be installed. Problem is finding a rear sight that offers all the dimensions I need on the dovetail itself. Angle, width, and especially depth would be important factors. Most sight companies don't offer these dimensions due to most of their sights are intended to be replacement sights. Any thoughts and advise would be appreciated.

I've been watching this item on Gun Parts for several months now. It always says "out of stock" when I do. I must of missed it. Thanks anyway though.

422 Sight Fix
I had the same problem with a 422 that I bought without any rear sight. I did not find a replacement sight at any of the "normal sources" so I drilled and tapped my slide and mounted a short piece of Weaver rail.
The red dot works fine and the sight has held up for hundreds of rounds without any problems.

NICE!!! That's an idea I hadn't considered. I'll run that by my customer. Who made the sight you used?

A 422 parts kit, with a fixed sight slide sold on Gunbroker yesterday for about $60. Lots of good parts in there including the slide which would fit your pistol with no issues.
