LGS has near mint looking Model 43 with 3.5" barrel, no box or papers for $819. Serial is M5xxx. Appears to be a safe queen
. Very slight turn line and no scrqtches, dings, etc. Magna stocks are perfect shape and taper to frame at bottom. Seems a high price, but don't see them in this condition very often. I would have tried to haggle for it, if it had box and papers. Didn't take a pic, but it is pristine. Thoughts? What is a reasonable price?

Thanks for the replies. Just not sure about the alloy frame and cylinder. I think I would be happier with a Model 34, or 63. Currently have a 17-3 I purchased new back in the mid to late70s.

If you want one to use, at the range and to carry around in a holster you'll be better served with a 34 or 63. The finish on the 43s does not stand up well to much use. They're nice and light but a 34 or 63 isn't much different in terms of weight. Nice to have a 43 or two in the accumulation though.

Nothing wrong with that price, especially these days! But I agree with Jeff above. If you're going use it, buy an all steel version.

The Models 34 and 63 are so light already, you'll find the Mod 43 even more difficult to shoot well especially if you've been used to a K frame.

Buy it.

I had one and I still kick myself for selling it.

It's one you can carry and not even know you have it.

They are rare and getting rarer.

In the condition described, that sound like a very reasonable price in today's market

However, I must agree that if you are seeking a carry gun you would be much better off with a Model 63

Depends on what you'd use it for. If you actually wanted to shoot it, maybe a modern 8-shot Model 43c would be more suitable. It's even one of the few without the IL. But if you want the original 3.5" Model 43, they are rare to find in top condition.

i agree, its a great price for that gun in this market. I recently picked on up and paid more than that for it.

Hope this helps
