Model 43C has been cancelled

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share that I received news that the 43C has been cancelled from a S&W employee. I simply wrote them an email last week and below is the response I got from Michael DiFiore:

"The project has been scrubbed, we do not have the details of the cancelation."

Thats too bad, wanted one sooo bad. Instead I have a 317 on order.

First new S&W I have been interested in since the invention of the lock.

Phooey. I was really looking forward to that little gun. It would have been the first factory new S&W that I purchased in ages.

I got an email from S&W today that said they were now in production and that they have back-orders for over 600 guns. That doesn't sound like have scraped that model. I wish all the S&W people would get their stories straight!

I hope it hasn't been round-filed...I too, was looking forward to purchasing my one and only new production S&W with the M43C. I'd even accept an ILS on it...it'd be quickly plugged though, of course

I'd buy one! But that's a very intelligently designed revolver, that doesn't jive with current S&W corporate mentality. S&W, please prove me wrong and make this gun!

It would be nice if the folks that............

answer the phone at the factory would be given the correct info. I have called up there several times in the last year with inquiry s about this model and have not heard the same answer twice. I am not sure one young lady who answered the phone even knew what a S&W was.

Yesterday the latest was, "It is in production, first batch shipped and working hard to produce enough to fill back orders now."

Some of you guys who live near the factory may have to occupy the place until they give us our 43c s.

I have been waiting to buy two, as I will wear one out practicing with it. That is unless my wife shoots it and takes one for herself.

I think S&W will be shocked at the demand for these if they ever make it to gunshops everywhere.
