Saw one at LGS.
Gun has rubber grips with two magazines. Would it have come with wood grips when new?
Looks to be fired very little.
Serial started with A8 if i remember.
Have only purchased my first semi (39-2) last Sunday.
No box etc.
Price $550.00 OTD
Thanks

It would have come with checked black plastic grips, not wood like the 39's.

I like the 459s. Do you remember if it had fixed or adjustable rear sight?

Here is one I picked up for $400 last year.. I have since replaced the pachmeyers with wood. I actually found some Hogues with great grain in them. I haven't taken pics though.

Chris.. you didn't know about this one...! I've been hiding it from you.

If it's as nice as the ones pictured here, I would go for it. It's not a steal at that price, but not a bad price if it's going to be a keeper. Maybe you can get them to throw you in a box of 9's and a rug. I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker, though.

Went back and brought it home this afternoon..$450.00 OTD not a steal but well bought.
Adjustable rear sights.
Now I'll have to find a set of grips (wood) to fit.
Photo's hopefully later tonight.

Serial A810xxx can someone give me a mfg date?

Thanks

I have one if the FBI contract guns with the dull finish and matt grips its been flawless. I have always liked the Smith autos also picked up a mint 645 for 399 and its been flawless never a jam .

Dad got this way back in the late 80s. This photo was taken last year during one of my visits in the range. Still shoots straight and with no failures. I think you made a good choice. BTW, the 459 comes with black plastic grips.
