Model 469

What do you want to know?

Great guns - more of a "Two-and-a-Half" Generation than a Second Generation. S&W's answer to the custom ASPs that had been floating around for years. Takes 59-series double stack mags (the flush-fit mags are 12-rounders, the 14-, 15- and 20-round 59-series stick out the bottom), doesn't use a bushing. Accurate, very flat for carry (better than the later 6904, IMO), not as good a trigger as on the 3rd Gens, reliable, decently accurate, TDA, very '80s sights.

I had the stainless version (669) and carried it for a while in the mid 80s.

I never learned to love it. Poor sights, didn't like the fat grip (like holding a 2x4, we used to say), not very accurate. It WAS 100% reliable with WW Silver Tips.

I much prefer my 3913, which is way more accurate, has excellent sights and (to me) a more comfortable grip.

I've put about 100 rounds through my new (to me) vintage 1987 Model 469 - It's been my EDC for the past 2 weeks now (Black Dog Concealment IWB holster) and I'm officially in love. It's a well-balanced, solid piece of ordnance. For me, it points naturally and due to the weight, the recoil is quite mild. With the IWB holster, it conceals very easily. At the range I'm hitting a little to the left, but I think that's possibly me pulling my shots left - a couple more range sessions should sort that out.
Admittedly, I haven't shot a ton of ammo through it, and 100% of it has been FMJ, but no failures of any kind.
Sights are a little small, but I painted 2 white dots on the rear sight and painted the front sight flourescent orange - helps a great deal.

It's more than a little worn on the outside (LE trade-in, I'm sure), but the bore is immaculate.

As always, YMMV.

I have a 669 I still carry from time to time and is my main range gun (9mm cheaper than 45) and I like it. Kinda limited holsters for it but High Noon seems to have most of their line for it. Yeah the sights suck. About once a year I end up painting my front sight groove with red nail polish
