I bought this really nice model 48,4 inch barrel in 22 mag. serial K403XXX and every thing was beautiful after a thorough cleaning,(no dissassembly except side plate). Excitedly took it to the range and after the first cylinder fired ,it was difficult to open cylinder and then would not reclose . the star was hitting the rear and preventing the cylinder from closing. Interference was enough that i didnt want to force it. What gives ?? definitely a used gun and bought at a GS so no recourse. any ideas??

Is the ejector rod properly tightened ?
If it worked properly before you cleaned it and when you loaded it the cylinder closed fine and it fired without any "drag" on the cylinder rotating to the next chamber it might be something under the extractor star that entered when you ejected the empties.

It's unburnt powder under your extractor, I've had the same problem with mine. The powder flakes get under the extractor when you eject the empties. Next time take a brush, and sweep out the area between the extractor, and the cylinder. It's an aggravation, and combined with the exorbitant price of .22 mag, has insured that my 4" model 48 hasn't seen daylight in almost 20 years.
