Model 48 Classic

I picked up a new 6" Model 48 last month, but wasn't able to get to the range until Thursday. No issues with sticky extraction. It's more accurate than I am. Like rimfire revolvers tend to be, the double action is a little stiff, but manageable and will smooth out with use. I shot Winchester, CCi, Hornady and Remington rounds through it and all performed well.

I'm a happy camper.
 
So folks, what's the verdict on the 48? I'm still seriously considering one. My son's 648 is a shooter but so muzzle heavy it's tough to hold steady for me.
 
Nice gun, I didn't know S&W was making it in the 4 inch. Appears the front sight is much higher than the original 48 no dash; at least as compared to my 48 no dash. Wonder why, or maybe its just a bit of an illusion and really isn't much higher. Enjoy it.

I don't think it's an illusion, the blade does look taller than the original. I like Patridge front sights, but they look odd on a 4" barrel.
