I bought a few yrs ago a model 51 NP , I see they were not made very long 1960 to about 1974ish?? Anybody have an idea abot how many NP 51s were made.....yes I have the box and papers and I paid $850 which I believe was a good price....this is 3 yrs ago.

No clue how many were made but have usually not had to wait too long for one to come up on GunBroker....finding one at a local shop...good luck.

Have had two over the years. The second one had a .22 LR cylinder added to it. Sold the second one when I downsized my .22 revolver collection. Kept a Model 63 that had a 651 cylinder added. Just made a better "woods gun"...

Nothing wrong with the price you paid...with box and paperwork they usually go for over a grand...

According to the s&w 4th addition nickel plating adds 100% mark up they have it listed as in EX state worth $850. Sadly I see these like the model 24-3 not all that popular to the general shooting population , but more geared to the collector...which I am.
