Model 52 reflex sight mount?

Just a quick note to say I will still offer these mounts but have been busy with other mount productions.

Also I discovered a significant fitting difference between "older" and "newer" 52 slides. I need to do a little more design changes and ferret out a couple more slides to try to make sure the mount design will accommodate various vintages of slides.

For your planning purposes, I'd be possibly interested in 2.
Hope this works out.

I will take one. If you wanted to get rich, figure out a way to make M52 mags. That would be a money maker.

That would be well beyond my modest shop's capabilities.

There certainly seems to be sufficient interest in these mounts. When I get caught up I will make some, notify in this thread and move the sales to my mounts for sale in the accessories thread.

Thank you all for supporting this new design.

Is this the same size as any other S&W autos, such as the M&P or possibly the 39 series? If so, the three gun guys and some who shoot tactical courses would very likely make purchases.

I have an avenue for anodizing, and will check, but it will be next week.

I'll take one

I would be interested in one for my 52-2. Can you share your email or website info.

I too am interested for an M52 (1st model) not a dash 1 or 2 for a Vortex Venom red dot.

I would be interested in both 41 and 52-2 mounts. I'm currently sporting a not so petite C-More mounted on a 41.

Before you start carving on that irreplaceable slide...

You might want to look for one of the Pachmayr mounts that replaces the right grip panel. It's not beautiful, but it does the trick, and it has the advantage that you're not subjecting that expensive sight to being slammed back and forth every time you squeeze off a shot. The Pachmayr is held on with the right-side grip screws, plus two long pins that replace the trigger pivot pin and another pin. These help distribute the recoil load so you don't risk pounding the grip screw bushings out of the frame. I think that's more of an issue with the alloy frame of the Model 39 and 439 and the heavier recoil of those guns, which the mount also fits, of course. Recoil of a Model 52 is about as mild as a centerfire auto gets, in my opinion. I was given the mount and a cheap red-dot by a friend, an extremely experienced instructor, armorer and gunsmith. I'd been griping about having hit a plateau in my accuracy with the 52. He gave me the setup and told me to put in on and go practice. I argued that the matches I was practicing for were iron-sights only, so there was no point learning to shoot the course with a red-dot. He looked at me and said, "Just do it." So i did, and of course my scores increased dramatically. Then I noticed something else. I was also running the course with a Ruger Mk II 22/45, also a gift from him, with a short bull barrel that roughly approximated the Mod. 52, to save on ammo costs. I couldn't put the red-dot on the Mk II, so I'd continued shooting with the iron sights. Lo and behold, my score with the 22/45, iron sights and all, mirrored the improvement with the 52 and the red-dot. Finally the light came on in my head and I realized that the visual feedback from the red-dot was letting me see the mistakes I was making with the 52 and I was learning how to shoot it, finally. Thanks, Larry! RIP.

We make a mount for the 41 that uses 2 of the 4 factory D&T holes. The mount sits forward of the iron sight. So if your 41 is factory tapped go to our ad on this forum.

I'm keeping my eye on the 52 mount. May not need one today but as my sight is changing with age, I may need it later!

Should you decide to make a mount for the 52, might it fit the 952?

We are definitely going to be offering mounts for the 52, just need to get caught up a bit.

I have never seen a 952 in the flesh but web photos indicate a quite different rear sight attachment scheme than for the 52.
