Model 57, 41 mag.

My 657, by far my favorite revolver, EVER !!!!!

I am no longer sure what year I bought this (Mid 60's), but I bought it at the same time my Son bought his 629. I much prefer the .41:D over his .44, & have found nothing else I would even consider trading it for, nor would I consider selling it. I made the grips myself. It has already been "reserved" for my oldest Son-in-law, when I leave this life.

OK, it isn't a M57, but it's still a 41M....a five shooter! It has been good.

Sold my two 57's years ago like a DA!

Mine, which is a 57-0. I've been a big fan since they hit the market.

Gotta ad my latest acquisition Model 58, no dash. Some holster wear, neglect but tight and it appears to have not been shot very much. I got it in a trade for a FNP-9 with 4 mags and $100 cash

Have to keep your eyes out for the young guys with Grandpa's hand-me-downs. The young guy I traded with after we shook on the deal asked "why do you want a revolver with an oddball caliber"? I sensed he thought he was taking advantage of me. "Just like 'em" I replied. "But it only holds six" he responded. He rattled off a list of online sources that "might" have the ammo "if they still make it". After we swapped guns. I was thrilled when he handed me a half box of Silvertips, speed loader and a Galco leather holster. I thought I was going to have to negotiate a deal for the ammo and holster but he gave them to me, no charge.

My advice is if you come across a deal on a Tupperware Wonder Nine or similar hi-cap plastic auto, buy it. There are plenty of young guys with his parent's and grand parent's hand-me-downs that would love to trade.

Nice story. I love the 58, it's just so clean. That's why I am trying to sell my 657. I can 't seem to find any short barrels to replace the 6" with.

Not my Pic, but building something like this would be sweet:

Model 57s were our issue sidearm in the early 70s. Great shooting gun.

Alas, my only .41. A Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8" with a SS Super Blackhawk grip frame.
Hope one day to trade her on a M58 or M57.

Fine handgun, by the way who did the custom work on your model 58? I once saw a matched pair of custom model 58s both were s prefix guns in a magazine. They looke exactly like yours, appreciate you sharing the pic, I will have to get a couple pics of my model 58 up!

I love mine. I was a 357 addict until a friend allowed me to shoot his 57. I found a 4" barrel and loaded up 1000 rounds and have had more fun than I thought possible.

I got my light box built and here are the pictures of my Model 57 no dash 4".

I picked this one up locally for $365 plus tax.

Now if I can find a 58 I will be set...for awhile!

$365.00!?!?! MAN!! You stole that one! Congrats on your find.

AwC'mon you guys have me drooling all over my computer screen!
A 41 mag has been evading my collection for sometime now and I can't seem to ever grab a hold of one!
Missed one at a local gun shop last year and the gun shows seem to be void of them in these parts as well....but I'll get one sooner or later! ;)

Back around 1982 a blue 8 3/8" Model 57 was the first revolver I ever bought. Over the years since, I've added a few more 57s, 58s, 657s and assorted other makers .41 Magnum firearms.

KO, Now that is an impressive collection. The photography is SUPERB! Are you the photographer?

Thanks sarge, glad you like the photos. I do all the photography with either my point and shoot Nikon Coolpix or Nikon D90 and edit the photos with PaintShop Pro.

The D90 is a great little camera. My son has one that I borrow from time to time. Some day I need to get one of my own. Yes, nice work there and a nice assortment of .41s. Thanks for the pics. :)

The D90 is a good camera. Some years ago I did portrait work and weddings part time. Used Nikon D2x and D100s. Nikon makes great equipment. Did all my editing in Photoshop. Again nice work! If you don't get paid now you should look into it. You have some skill there.

Thanks, ko41

Did you put that slide show up on the Marlin Owners forum awhile back ? I've been hunting for it. I'm deep in the .41 addiction myself, just got my first no dash, mercy, the blue on that thing is out of this world. Thanks for all the great pics, everyone, my camera skills aren't too special, I'll see if I can't find one or two worth posting.
