Model 58 smith year? and value?

I am considering selling my smith model 58 its serial number is S313934 it has a slight cylinder ring also no dash. it does have some muzzle wear pictures are attached. Looking for Value Year of make and any cool info any one has about it. Thanks

These are very popular, especially the earlier ones with the S prefix serial number.

I know that M-58s in like new condition sell for over $1,000. Maybe even higher (I haven't been following M58s for a while). Yours looks like it has some wear. Market value will depend on how much wear it has.

Something of a cult following has developed for the 58. Big money comes from collectors for pristine examples with boxes. Yours is also missing the original stocks. That's bad because the 58 used special stocks only used on one other model (520) so finding them is a problem.

I paid $900 for a very clean 95% S prefix 58 with correct stocks, no box or accessories about 8 months ago. I would rate yours as a $600 piece.

One looses a lot without the correct PC Magna grips especially those serial numbered to the gun. With the Hogue grips and wear..$6-700 is the going price right now.

I paid $750.00 for mine from the same era, with Hogue grips, a few months ago.
