Any idea on what brand makes a paddle holster for a model 59? I will be using this pistol as my carry for a few months and i really like the paddle style, also will 5906 mags fit in a model 59? I used the search bar but nothing really came up...

Thanks, jay

Jay, I bought one for my 915 and 5904. Uncle Mikes makes one and so does blackhawk. The Uncle Mikes has tension screw tighten system and the Blackhawk has the trigger release. I prefer the Uncle Mikes and it was 1/2 the price. Don't get me wrong, the Blackhawk is good, I just prefer the tension screw system compared to the Blackhawk system.

Check them both out though.

I did a search on that book company website ;) and also on the search engine that is so popular ;)

Search term for both places "model 59 holster", "S&W 915 holster" "S&W 5904 holster" So long as your gun does not have the square trigger guard, all of the Mod 59's will use the same holster if the barrel length is the same.

My all time favorite paddle holster is still the Kramer MSP...by far the most comfortable paddle I have ever used....not a cheap solution however.

PS. 5906 magazines are interchangeable with your 59...they are just stainless steel instead of being blued.

Look at the Safariland line of "custom fit" holsters:
Custom Fit Holster :: HOLSTERS.COM

+1 on the Safariland model 568's if you like the open top holsters. They are also able to handle most of the S&W pistols when they are in the same series.

One that fits the double stack 4" barrel full sized frame S&W's (59,x59,xx06) will handle all of them, even if the model is not specifically listed.

An example is my 945-1, it's not listed but it fits like a glove in the model for the single stack 5" barrel pistols like the 4506 which is listed.

I was about to suggest them but safearm beat me to it.

I use the FOBUS SG-2 paddle holster for all my 59-series guns.

Seems to be marketed as the holster for newer SIG guns.

Fits my 59-series guns quite well though.
Only issue is that the slide stop "digs in" to the kydex just a bit.
You can remedy the "digging" by notching the holster where it digs, or you can just leave it. The stop will dig its own channel in due course anyway.

If you could take a used holster, I like Roys pancake holsters, they have not been made for years but one for a Colt gov. model will fit also you might find one for a 59. They have 3 slots and can be worn in the back or forward cant or in a cross draw. You will have to look on the ebay site and type in Roys holster and watch for a while. Better still put an ad on the wanted here on the forum, I have bought one here. Jeff
