A local shop has one nice condition no Box is asking $800 . That is too high....Hi what do you guys think is reasonable.

It depends on your local market and how badly you want one. It would be more attractive at $100-150 less but how many have you seen for sale? Good luck in your decision.

I just coughed up $745 for one at the Wyoming Weapons Collectors Memorial Day show. No box, but it's lettered. My pal came down from an $800 asking price. I didn't feel bad at all.
S&W made 1,000 of them in 1985 for Ashland Shooters Supply, according to Roy's letter. I've seen other sources that say 660.
GB prices I've tracked this year (with boxes +) have all been well north of $800. One particularly grimy one went for $849.

I began carrying my Model 60 Chief's Special Target back in 1986.
You will be totally astonished at what your groups look like when you add a good set of sights to the Chief's Special
The only thing that got me to change what was in my ankle holster was that Smith and Wesson introduced the J-Magnum and I switched to a 357 Magnum Model 60.
I wish that Smith and Wesson would have offered a J-Magnum Model 60 Chief's Special Target, but the wait continues
