I recently picked up model 60-14 Lady Smith for a good price. As it's in 357 mag, is there any dimentional difference from a standard model 60. The cylinder length is 1.590". I ask because I'm considering a Simply Rugged holster for it which are wet molded to the model.

Thanks

The 60-14 .357 frame and cylinder are dimensionally different than Model 60 .38 Spl variants.

I have a Milt Sparks VMII which was made for my 3" Model 60-15 and this works just fine with my 2" Model 60 ND's.

Not sure about the other way around though....

Welcome aboard from ol' Wyo.

Your 60-14 is built on the J-magnum frame, which S&W introduced in 1996. It's frame and cylinder were the first to accommodate .357 Magnum cartridges in a Chiefs Special. Yes, it's different that a standard Model 60 from before 1996.

As important is barrel length. Is yours 2⅛", measured from the front of the cylinder to the muzzle?

Rob will take good care of you as long as you give him the right information to work with.

Yep, that's the plan. Just wanted to get the info straight before I talked with him. I was actually looking for a 36 or 38 spl 60 when this one came up. Only had 15 rounds through it. Box, paper, tool, and the rest of the box of 38 spl ammo for $550. I have a set of Altamont grips do in tomorrow. The LS finger groove grips on it are a bit skinny at the bottom for a guy.

Thanks

Good info above! At one time, all snub J-frames would fit into a scabbard listed for a snub J. Gotta be careful now with close fitting rigs. The snub lightweight mags have a thicker top strap and won't fit into many rigs cut for the older models. It's why I love the suede IWB pouches.
