Model 60-1Target 2 “

Picked up a mint 60-1 a while back and today learned it was shipped in 1985 . It's a 102305 production code as the box states . It doesn't look like it's been fired since new and certainly never sat with cartridges in it . Super clean . I will be taking it to the range next time I go. Was wondering if anyone else has one?
I've got the 60 and a 50

I dug out my old photos including the Advertisement from the July 10, 1986 issue of Shotgun News. As I said, to was a special run of 5000 guns in this configuration made for the distributor Ashland Shooting Supplies. 102305 product code, special order number 5149. The standard catalog states this model mas manufactured in 1985. Mine wears the finger groove combat stocks I put on it when new. While mine has been carried extensively and shows wear (sent back to S&W years ago for a rebuild) I have saved the original box, packaging, unopened tools and documents. It was my first limited run gun so that seemed like a good idea. It's by far my favorite J frame. Enjoy yours. IMG_2896.webpIMG_0192.webp

I've heard there was 660 of the ashlands made. Never heard 5000 first for me. But regardless they're one of my favorite 60s

Congratulations on your new pistol. It's an interesting revolver and I have never seen one with the target sights.
