model 60 age

One of my co-workers just came into what appears to be an older model 60 square butt. I've only seen pictures of it myself and I'm trying to get the general age of it for him its ser # is R649xx if anybody can give me some general information I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi, and welcome! Probably 1972 production. These were usually round, not square butt frames - if the grip frame bottom tapers down it is a RB, and if it flares outward it is a SB. Hope this is helpful.
