The number you provided and showed is an assembly number, not
the serial number.
Look at the bottom of the butt--there's your serial number.

Others that bracket yours in the database suggest S&W might
have shipped yours in the summer of 1982.
The company had begun several changes around that time so
your Model 60 might have a barrel pin, a small S&W logo on the
left side of the frame below the thumbpiece, and a serial number
sans R stamped on the inside of the right stock (if it has the
original stocks). The alternatives would be no barrel pin, a large
logo, and no serial number on the right stock.
