Hello all. I am new to the Forum. I just traded for a Model 60, Chief Special, no dash. I traded with the original owner. He purchased it in 1982. It came with the original box, all the contents that would have come with the gun when new, including the cleaning kit, manual, warranty card, and packing paper. I also received the original sales receipt. According to the owner, he purchased it, shot it twice and it has been in his safe since 1982. I met him at his home to make the trade and I believe everything he says. It is serial number R310***. I wanted to know what year that would would make the gun and also what the value of it may be. I am not going to sale it. As I told the gentleman I traded with, it is going to do the same thing, "go in my safe and stay there until I pass it down to my son." I have a big revolver collection and this is a great new addition. Any info would be helpful. Once I figure out how to attach pictures I will. Thanks

I am trying to figure out how to post them. Technology challenged!!! I know it doesn't help but the gun looks new.

I'm not up on the years when it comes to serial numbers. If it's of any help, I bought a new Model 60 in May of 1980, according to my records. The serial # is R245642.
