Curious if anyone can tell me when a particular Model 60 was manufactured/shipped? SN is R903xx.

According to the Catalog, best guess given the parameters would be 1973.

Thanks Armorer951. Which catalog are you referring to? Is there a reliable source to look up S&W serial numbers online?

I'm not aware of an online source that shows serial numbers and shipping dates for Smith and Wesson products. I have a copy of the 3rd Edition, Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson, which has information about the various models, introduction and design details and some limited data regarding shipping dates. A 4th edition is now available from various vendors online, and, depending on where you live, there may be one in your local library.
