I just last night saw 2 unfired M60's no dash close for over $1000 and due to my lack of knowledge for the one in particular being an Ashland model which I believe 800 were manufactured I was still a little stunned to see it close at $1150, looking unfired with the box in pristine condition and all the extras.
The second was listed as a never fired model 60 no dash with all the goods in perfect condition that also closed over a $1000. I have been wanting a decent M60 no dash and have found nothing under $550-$600 in 95% condition with no extras.
Bottom line if you have the opportunity to pick one up in really nice condition for under the prices mentioned I would do so as the market seems to be on fire for these little gems.

J-frame revolver prices are all over the place - sometimes without rhyme or reason. A Model 60 as you describe is easily in the $350.00 - $500.00 range depending on condition, box, papers, etc. At $300.00, assuming it is in good condition, I'd set a new land speed record fast drawing my wallet to pay for it.

I looked for a long time for a No Dash M60 or M640. Found a perfect M60 about 2 years ago for $550 - unfired with box & docs. I didn't buy it because I thought it was $50 too high. I have since learned that $50 too high is the correct price for most S&W revolvers, except for the ones that are $100 too high.

I just picked one up on a trade. No dash nonpinned. Couple sets of grips. I may be posting in the Classified soon.

I'd say about $450 because that's what I paid for mine, same as you describe, about a year ago. I thought/think that was a fair deal.
A new model 60 is about $600ish. So I'd use that as a guide. Some people on this forum might think the older ones are better guns, thus commanding a better 'value', while others might prefer the new model 60's ability to handle .357 mag.
Your mileage WILL vary...

Yep, prices are pretty fluid across the country. I'd not be surprised to see a low around $300 and a high of $550 or so. Add box and docs and price rises radically, but since that's not the case here, I would try to stay at $450 or less. This from a guy who just bought a NIB Model 60-4 and paid a bit of a premium so I could get an adjustable sighted version to carry and shoot.
