Model 617 question

How can I tell what version, dash, that my 617 is?

Press the cylinder release latch forward, swing the cylinder open and read what's stamped on the frame in the yoke cut.

Right, it will be stamped "617-XX

If its a "no dash" it would just say "617". If you post pictures or describe it's features we could probably nail it down too. The engineering changes or dashes of the 617 have been discussed at great length on this forum.
