Hey fellow Smith lovers. I have a question & I know that it will be answered on this forum. I came across a Model 625-7 Mountain Gun in 45 Colt. On the frame, below the cylinder & inside the frame, the revolver was stamped: CET 1091. Can someone please tell me what that stands for? I've never came across that before. Thank you, Jay "shotgungibbs" Prather

Yes, that is inside the yoke on the frame. I've never seen the serial number stamped on the outside of the frame, between the cylinder & the trigger. I've never noticed it on other Smith revolvers. Thank you for the help! jay

It's on a lot of police revolvers so they can check the serial number without opening the cylinder or removing aftermarket stocks.

I've no idea why it's on your N frame.
