Model 625 Question?

Barrel configuration - PC lighter for better transition / JM full underlug damps recoil. Trigger - Smooth on the PC / Ribbed (for your pleasure?) on the JM. Rifling - ECR on the JM / Broach cut on the PC. Cylinder length - short on the PC for shorter jump to the forcing cone. Teardrop hammer on the PC - slightly less mass = quicker lock time. PC action tuning (some are good, some not so much - all need add'l work). It's my understanding that the PC guns are built "off-line" entirely in the PC. Pro series guns are regular production line guns with some PC enhancements.

Mine...

Bob's got it covered. I thought one other difference was the sights. Not sure if the front or rear is different (or both).

Thank You guys for the info, I'm looking at getting one but wasn't sure if they were close to being the same. A friend has the JM and I've shot it a bit and really like it but I have found a couple of PC that are available so I wasn't sure.

The PC version also has chamfered charge holes and, if I am not mistaken, a trigger stop installed.

What is the difference in "street price" between the two models? I'm not really sure where to check these things, because it usually means squat to me living in MA.

That's kind of why I was wanting to know what the differences were because there's not much difference in the prices that I'm seeing they seem to be running $950 to $1100. for each but once in a while I've seen the JM at $850 to $900.

Thr notches in the PC cylinder are shorter compared to my 625-8. Not sure how the newer 4" PC guns are holding up, but my 625-7 5.25" barrel PC's cylinder is not locking up properly. The notches are peened and scratched up.
I switched to my 625-8 and never looked back. Unfortunately, with rule changes in USPSA, my 625's will stay home.
Now, I'll shoot the same 627 in USPSA, ICORE and the local steel league.

I'm not up on USPSA rules. What changes were made that you couldn't use your 625's?

Nothing prevents him from using his 625 for USPSA in Revolver division. The rules change now allows 8-shot revolvers (627) to be used as long as they are scored minor. Apparently he feels he can no longer be competitive with the 6-shot 625. Most USPSA shooters feel the jury is still out on that question and whether the change will have a bigger impact on local, club level matches, or the larger sanctioned matches.
