My son in Florida recently was given a stainless .22 caliber revolver S&W Model 63-3. Serial number B(or 8)PZ 2407X, with a four inch barrel. Can you give us the shipping date of this revolver and any other interesting facts?
Thanks

Sorry, don't know how we missed you.
Looks like it was shipped in late 1993.
It's called a 22/32 Kit Gun, built on the J-frame. One of the best little handy 22s Smith ever made.

Your serial number does not make any sense to me. The first M63s had M prefixes and by the -3s it should be 3 letters and 4 numbers, ABC1234. I think that's right. You need to get the serial number off the butt of the gun.

OK, I'm the dummy. PBZxxxx.

Serial Number on Model 63-3

The serial number in my thread is from the yoke. I will have my son look for a number on the butt.

No need, a Smith of that vintage will have the serial number both on the frame in the yoke and on the butt.
