Model 63 no dash 4" virtually new

Damn, with all my "old fashioned" guns, I am rich, lol.

You know for us old-timers, it's kind of hard to imagine paying $700 for a .22 J frame revolver. However, I paid $296 for mine brand new back in '79 (serial 104401). Don't know what the inflation value would be today but I bet it's at least $700. So, congratulations to you for your wise purchase. And I mean that in all sincerity. I don't think I've shot more than 50 rounds through mine. It's a fine gun, but I always enjoyed shooting semi-autos in .22. And I prefer to plink with my 2 inch 34-1. I'll attach a pic of mine exhibiting some of the most horribly mismatched stocks ever to come out of Springfield. I used to be upset about it, but now it's kind of like a badge of pride! Wierd huh?

Loeman:

I have an exact M63 I also bought new about the same time yours was made and the most amazing thing is my stocks are mis-matched just like yours - HEY, MAYBE WE SHOULD TRADE ONE SIDE TO EACH OTHER :) I will take a picture later and post it.

ADDED PHOTO'S: they actually match better in the photo's than in real life!

Well maybe mine are not quite as bad mis-match as yours - just two different shades. As I have said in my PM to you, I've seen more than ours mis-matched on this particular model for some reason. The ONLY thing I can think of is that Square Butt J Frame grips are probably a whole lot less common than the RB variety and they just have less to choose from when picking grips for a revolver. The other reason could be the person selecting the grip sets is COLOR BLIND or has a WEIRD SENSE OF HUMOR!!! Amazing they made it past the final inspection - huh?

I have its twin brother, probably with less than 100 rounds through it.

The 63 is a neat revolver but really not sure whats driving the market so high when the K-22 is superior in almost every way.
Admittedly far less J frame 22lrs were made but that was a direct result of the lower demand when they were new .

Again not ridiculing the Model 63 or 34 just dont see spending more than K-22 when you are getting "Less gun"....All just IMO....Wink ;)

K-22s and 17s and 18s are for shooting a lot while........... IMHO ....... 34's and 63's are for carrying..........and shooting a little

Thoughts? you did well. I just finally found my M/63, no box, no papers, no tools and no original grips. I paid $600.00 for it and was happy to do so!!!:)

I bought mine in 1981 for $263. I put a set a target stocks on it I love the way it handles and shoots great. And I have a post-war k22 that I love as well but did model 63 is a holster gun for me.
