I know I am asking a lot here. I have a friend that has a Smith model 64 no dash ser # D60XXX stainless 4" barrel locks up tite, no pitting, decent finish, cylinder looks good, bore looks good, grips have some small chips along the butt (wear) shoots straight and true.
Anyway he is wanting to trade me for my LNIB S&W BodyGaurd .380. We are trying to come to an unbiased reasonable value on his model 64.
We have come to an agreement to take the average of what you guys give for its worth.
Also does anyone know its year of manufacture.
Thanks Scott

If you are into revolvers I'd buy it. Made only for a short time the no dash tapered barrel balances well and is a great gun. I paid $550, shipped from FL, for this a few months back but gun was like new and had box and goodies. I know I paid high but was after a nice specimen. Your location and gun availability will factor into the price.

Looks like your 64. I like the wheel guns. I have $375.00 in the S&W BodyGuard and wanted to make sure we were in the same range in value.

I bought this one in May 2013 with a incorrect box and no papers, sold the box on the way out of the shop. I have $375.00 and some change in it. There is a similar S&W 64 in a LGS (unsure about the box) for $525.00 firm.

It sounds like a good trade to me, especially if it looks as good as KLYDE's. $400 sounds about right for one with a few dings.

I picked up mine today. Never fired outside the factory,Box, papers, original sales receipt (from Aug, 1974) with sales tag still attached! Original owner purchased and put it the safe until today. BTW price of brand new 64 no dash in 1974....$135.00

Did you give the seller $140 for it to make it worth his while? (just kidding)
I have a 64-3, and it is a pleasure to shoot!
Yours is a great find! Bob

Well we couldn't come to an agreement on the 64 pencil barrel. thanks for all the input.

That's a shame. That would have been a fair trade for your Bodyguard. I gave $300.00 for my no dash 64 a couple of years ago in nice, but not minty shape.

A nice no lock 64 is worth way more then a bodyguard. They have gone up in price. I bought a very nice 64-3 with no box for 270 about 4 years ago. Now you can't find them for under 400. If your friend wants a bodyguard, he should put that 64 on gunbroker with a starting bid of 400. Watch it climb. He'll have more than enough for a bodyguard

Well guys I guess when things go right they go right. I just traded a Taurus 738 .380 in Blk SS for the S&W 64 pencil barrel.
He didn't like the S&W BodyGaurd .380 trigger, but he liked the Taurus. That said I have $225.00 in the 64 no dash. Makes me a happy man. Shes not a safe queen. But she is a shooter. I will try to get pictures up tomorrow.
