There is a stainless revolver collection from an estate for sale at a LGS. I am on the fence about two of the revolvers, a model 64 and a model 67. Both 4 inch. Both LNIB. The 67 has stainless sights. Didn't look at them yet, but based on the other guns in the collection and the boxes, I would say they are from the early to mid 70's. They are asking $500 each. Does this seem reasonable? I'm thinking the 64 might be high, but was not sure about the 67. Thanks for your help.

If as you presume -- '70s vintage, perfect condition, with boxes -- those are excellent prices. If I saw them, I'd buy and run. The 67 especially; the stainless sights were early production and aren't common.

Can't beat the M67 or M15 it's counterpart as a shooter. As the other member pointed out regarding the M67 with the stainless sights it has to be the (no dash), within the past month I have seen two with starting prices of $650 on GB, I didn't follow them as I have a -1 I am happy with. If I came across the deal you mentioned I would presently own both. In the end it really comes down to the sights you prefer and of course the collectedly factor they both hold if indeed the M64 is the tapered barrel. My vote would be for the full barrel M67 and I have owned both although I let the M64 get away with no loss of sleep. What the hell, by them both.

Love my M67! That stainless sight is an early 1973 productoin only, as mine is a 1973 -74 and it has black sights, but is still a no dash model. For the pair and in box 1000 isn't bad honestly. I recently gave 420 for mine without box or papers. Not # matching original grips either. Grab them and enjoy!

I would take either or both at that price. I just paid $520 for a model 64 earlier this year and as far as I know (I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong) the 67 is the same gun but with adjustable sights instead of fixed.

I recently picked up a 67 no dash on this forum for $515 with box, very nice condition. I then found one at a show where they were asking $550 including the box. Appeared to be fired little if at all but had laid around a long time. Those prices are very good from I have seen in my area, on this site, and on GB. I do find that the 38 doesn't carry the appeal of the 357 so anything there is a different comparison in my experience anyway.

I have a 67 no dash from 1973, with rear stainless sight. Have a 64, 4" heavy barrel, -3. While I am glad to have both, the 64 just shoots like a dream for me. My wife really enjoys the 67. What you may feel is a high price now, certainly won't be in a couple of years. Bob

Well I went back today and picked them up (that now makes models 64, 65, 66, and 67 from this collection mine). Now the question is do I keep them all in unfired condition, or shoot them? I'm thinking I just purchased my first safe queens (I have other Smith's in .357 and 38 to handle the shooting).

Buy the 67, try to deal a little on the 64. I'd say $600 on the 67 and $450 on the 64 would be fair if they're in very good condition.
Or pay less for the pair at the current asking price. ;)

I had a 67 years ago. Would love to have kept it. The 67 is a beut.

Congratulations! Post some pics when you get a chance! Bob

Most excellent

You have what IMO is four of the best K frames ever produced by S&W.....congratulations and I like how you "do business" - when in doubt - buy all of them....with them being in the condition that they are & early production and with you having shooters - I think the gun safe beckons. As for the prices, I see used dept. trade ins going for $500 in the model 67's....they are not going to decline in value...so IMO you did very well.

You bought them all? At once? Heavy. What I would do. Please do not sell them, except maybe to me. I've been out here for 5 years now and I haven't even seen 4 guns like that, let alone all at once. Let me stop. I really envy you and wish you well with your purchases.

In my defense there were actually many other revolvers (14 others) in the estate, and I only ended up with 4. Now that's what I call self controll!
