Model 648 .22 Magnum

Very nice, I didn't know they made one in .22 Mag with the underlug like that. I sure do love my 617-6, it's a sweet gun. After so many years of larger calibers and the expense of ammo even when reloading, the .22 rimfire is wonderful. It's been a rekindled love to return to the .22 LR.

I'm one of those strange people who like the .22 mag.

I like it too. I hope to find one someday! I just sold an older 17-3 because I have the 617 and i'm trying to pare down my inventory. a 648 would go nice with it.

I have one also and I love it. I bring a tooth brush and and a bore brush to the range because there is usually excessive Schmutch fouling after firing 30 plus rounds...lots of unburnt powder no matter what ammo I use. Enjoy it!

Have you tried any of the pistol specific 22 mag ammo? CCI and Hornady make it and I'm sure there are others.

Accuracy updates?

Only been to the range once with my 648. Fired 50 rounds of Hornady 30 gr. The 648 has a. Leupold 2 1/2 X 8 scope. At 25 yds my groups are under one inch. At 75 yds my groups are a hair under Three inches. I am sure I can do better but I didn't have a lot of time that day. As a side note, I had no problems with fouling or ejection of spend cartridges.
