Model 65 barrel lengths

The factory Ace grips that came on the Lady Smith. They would benefit from a grip adapter for sure. By themselves, they are slippery and hard to hold on to.

The bottom grips are Altamont manufactured S&W Talo overruns I bought from Altamont off of Gunbroker for 9 bucks.

They absolutely do benefit from a grip adapter. My wife's favorite shooter (with .38's).

the one I'm looking at is a 65-5, clearly stamped on the yoke.

They are asking $450. Which seems too good to be true for a 3" k-frame?

This counts as aerobic exercise for us "older" S&W addicts..,..,

Took her to the range today, wonderful shooter. Really smooth trigger. Surprising how much different it feels from the 4" inchers (67/65) I used to have. (But the rubber grip also makes a big difference.)

Unfortunately I couldn't find any 357 lately, so only shot 38 today. A good excuse to buy more ammo (357) and get back to the range.

Did some (DA) defensive drills side-by-side with my carry gun (Glock 43). I'll probably never be able to shoot it as well as the G43, but it's a lot of fun to shoot. The smooth/wide face of the metal revolver trigger is a whole lot more comfortable to shoot than the plastic Glock trigger with that annoying dongle.

At some point I may put some hi vis paint on the front sight blade of the M65 and let them race again and see what happens...

I've done a lot of "catch-and-release" revolver collecting since I first caught this bug a few years ago. But this one is definitely a keeper. Next I'll start the hunt for its blued version. Is there a 3" Model 13?
