Hello- After reading an article (internet posting more so) about cylinder lockup I decided to check mine. I guess I never noticed it before, so just want to check and see if it's acceptable. Obviously trying to describe it would be difficult, so I shot a quick video. I know a little play is okay.

Tell me what you think. It's a very low mileage gun.

FYI, I know it's "Safe to shoot" since I mentioned it towards the end. What I meant to ask was should this be addressed at all? This is only my second revolver, so I'm somewhat inexperienced with wheel guns.

Absolutely fine. I've never held a Smith and Wesson that has absolutely NO cylinder movement; even brand-new ones do. Looks like you have a fine revolver, sir.

Looks pretty good to me. You might also want to try it with snap caps loaded.

When I check mine, I cock and release the hammer and check the lock up while still holding the trigger back.

Nice 66! :) Regards 18DAI

Thanks guys! Scored it locally. A guy here in Poway bought it back in the 80s then threw it up for consignment 20 years later. Still had all the original parts including box, cleaning rod and sales receipt. Also came with the fat combat wood grips, but I threw some hogues on to keep the wood ones mint.

Thanks for letting me know that theres no issues here.
