hello everyone!

Back on my grind! I found something that I think speaks to me but I don’t know what it’s worth. It’s a 4 inch 4 digit serial number Model 66 w/ box , paperwork and stainless sight

Serial number is 4K6723….
Any idea of what it’s worth….. need to act fast!

Thank you

It’s a . . . 4 digit serial number
Serial number is 4K6723….

Let's clarify a couple things here.
1. That serial number has five digits, not four. The digit in front of the K counts because the numbers never had more than six digits. When they reached K999999, they simply moved one of the digits in front of the K. With one digit in front of the K, serial numbers never had more than five after the K, for a total of six digits, as before.
2. 4K6723 would be from 1973 (4K1628 to 4K54104). As Alan stated, it really isn't an "early" Model 66. The Model 66 was introduced in 1970, three years before this one was assembled.

Seems like a $1600 gun to me if unfired - a bit less if fired. Half that for a normal shooter in average condition. Maybe prices are just high here.

oh wow ok we are way off! Gentleman wants $1800 LOL
I don't know what he's been smoking, but you should be able to buy two of them for that price with some change left over. That dates to 1974, and the M66 came out in 1970. Which is sort of odd, doesn't the one you show have a stainless rear sight? That was only found on early production, maybe the first year and a half.

4k6723....isn't that 6 digits? I have an old Bacon revolver that is one digit: 2. Had a chance to buy it's brother, serial #1..but snoozed.
It's actually 5 digits. Lots and Lots of K frames were made, they start out in 1946 with K101. As the numbers increased to K999999 in 1970, instead of adding a 7th digit they put the K between the first and second digit and started over. In 1976 they'd reached 9K99999 so they moved the K one more digit to the right and started again with 10K1001, and again in 1982 with 125K000. Then, in 1984 K frames went to the 3-letter prefix.

I’m just stating what the gentleman said. He showed me 1 Gun Broker Model 66 that sold for $1500. I don’t know if the stainless sight was installed later however he claims the revolver is Unfired.

To the OP: Too much about that revolver doesn’t add up. I don’t have my copy of the SCSW in hand but the serial number sounds way too high for it to be an early enough Model 66 No Dash to have all stainless sights. And with box, dox, etc and unfired as well? Sounds too good to be true. If all of that were true, that would still be an absolute top dollar price. If it were me, I’d walk away., but you must decide for yourself.

Just to muddy the waters, here’s my 4K serial# M66. Purchase new in ‘74 if I recall. Stainless rear sight. I installed a white outline blued rear sight blade shortly after purchasing it because, well, I shoot it.
50 years old and still going strong.

I do like me some 66s.
But that high for two of them!
Slow down, look around!
It’s a big world, opportunity abounds!

For the past year and a half, I have been stopping by a gun shop monthly. It is on the way to my naval base visit's. They have two model 66 revolvers that are like new in box. One is priced at $1400, and the other is priced at $1500. Both were still in the display case yesterday, if you catch my drift.

My early no dash 4" model 66 that I purchased new in 1974 for $260 has serial number 4K1814X with stainless sights. See photo.
