MODEL 66 THUMBLATCH SEATING ISSUE?

On one of my Model 66s, 2.5 inch 66-3, the thumblatch is not nearly flush to the frame like the others. Tried a factory replacement (they still stock them if you provide the old part # specifically) and it too is not well seated. Function no issue. Am I doing something incorrect in installing? Has anyone seen this before?

There is not too much to do about it. It tightens against the bolt. So the only adjustment to be done about this is to file the back of the thumb piece down some.

Thanks. It's mostly cosmetic, but I am concerned dirt can get in behind the catch since it is away from frame. I have extras so I will try what you said.
