Model 66 trigger issue

Check to see if the rebound spring has been shortened to reduce trigger pull.

two guesses:
1. clean/lube action
2. rebound spring

both require knowing how to remove plate without tearing it up

The sideplate is simple.....remove the screws carefully ( make sure you keep them marked for each hole). Use a rubber mallet and tap as hard as needed on the other side of the gun....the plate will pop out. To put back on....fit the top part of the plate....then lower the lower part of the plate till it fits.....then tap lightly with the mallet. Put screws back in.

It is possible that there is another problem causing the trigger not to return. I have had brand new guns arrive straight from the distributor with this condition. In each case, it was a binding of the hand on the ratchet. Just another idea in case the rebound spring or the lack of sufficient lube are not the problem.
