I recently inherited a no dash Model 67, serial number N806xxx, there are stampings under the left grip panel of A13, A15& A24. It has a bright finish, wood grips, an 8.25" barrel, black adjustable rear sights and a red ramp front sight. Any additional information would be appreciated.

Your Model 57 has a nickel finish, target stocks made of Goncalo alves, and an 8 3/8-inch barrel. It was probably shipped in 1980. The stampings under the stocks on the grip frame were put there by individuals who assembled and inspected your Model 57. Your Model 57 would have been shipped originally with a mahogany presentation case.

Somebody should have told Smith & Wesson that, because it is clearly stamped MOD. 67 under the yoke

I’d love to see the stamp.
67 is a K frame 38.
57 is big N frame so the yoke would be different.
Factory mistake I’d imagine which is a cool find.
I’m after a 57 just like yours…. When the time comes.
That is to say, it’s not in my collection yet but it will be!
