Model 69 barrel question

I have looked high and low and can't find the answer

What threads are on the frame end of a model 69.

They have to be larger than normal L frame .562-36 to get the thicker shank for forcing cone. I can not get regular set of calibers in the frame window and square on the barrel extension of my 4.25" 69 but a work around gives me about .604 on the part with no threads sticking through the frame

A 586 barrel I have has .562-36 threads and measures .520 on portion with no threads, the same as my model 696 no dash.

N Frame barrels with .670-36 threads run about .620 on portion without threads

I know they beefed up the barrel shank when the came out with the 69 in 44 mag and its 2 piece barrel, but I can not find just what they went to anywhere.

I suspect they must be around .640 to.650. But, without an unmounted barrel I have no way to be sure.

Cant answer that, but, Midwest Gun Parts has replacement model 69 barrels in stock. Maybe a phone call would provide that info?

Well, a phone call didn't get me any useful information. But, I will know all about it when the one I ordered gets here. I didn't need one but another barrel won't hurt anything. Shipping was $7.99, so total was $45.29. I may machine a couple notches in the ring on the muzzle and make a spanner wrench so I can remove it when I want to.

I now know the answer.
When I first unwrapped the model 69 barrel insert from Midwest Gun Parts, I though maybe the same as N frame .670-36 but no. While they are Smiths normal 36 to the inch the Major Diameter is .638. .076 larger than a normal L frame at .562

J frame .500-36 one or 2 piece
K frame .540-36
L frame .562-36 one piece, 2 piece 44 mag .638-36
N frame .670-36 one or 2 piece
