The new S&W Model 69 L-frame .44 Mag with a 6" barrel just begs to be made in a 3" barrel, either bobbed or like the Model 625, for compact carry.

Wrote S&W but they have no plans to make one. After years of begging that S&W make a compact .44 like Charter Arms has done for decades with their Bulldog, S&W has the ability to offer one, and in Magnum instead of Special.

Hey Brian, where did that photo come from if S&W is not making a 3" 69? But let's step up to the plate and swing for the fences! A 3" bbl is a telegraph pole to me. Let's do a 2" bbl, with a RB Magna grip like on the former snub 66 and 10 RB! Now we're talking. Don't let the muzzle-blast-and-reduced-MV people spoil our dreams. What's the sense of having a handgun if it can't fit in your pocket? Best wishes and good shooting.

I photoshopped the original 6" image, emulating the Model 625 style barrel.

I had a Model 29 with round butt and 3" barrel and carried it for CCW in rural areas and the woods. Wish I still had it. Wanted to get a more durable finish 629, but the fluted cylinder models with the traditional pattern barrel dried up.

I'd rather have a 3" barrel. Otherwise it might as well be chambered in 44 Special.

Now the Model 625 with a barrel shorter than 3"? That might work better.

nah have it made in .45Colt/.45LC & a 3"or 4" barrel...........anything a ..44 spec or .44 mag. can do, a .45LC can do better....better yet have it made in a parkerized finish too..

Why not a series, 44 Mag, 45 Colt and 45 ACP? Though I suspect the 45's will push the cylinder dimensions a bit far.

After watching hickok45's model 69 video I really want a no lock L frame 41 mag. Prefer a 3.5" Also prefer all stainless components, no black accents.
