The S&W Rifle catalogs for early 1970s show two rifles with the full length stocks. They were the Model D and Model E. Calibers shown in the catalogs were .270, .30-06,. 308. & 243. They were Husqvarnas made in Sweden for S&W. The Model D had " Full Length" stocks and the Model E had " Monte Carlo " stocks, in some of the catalogs, and other catalogs called both Models as having " Full Length Mannlicher style sporting stocks." The difference was the Model E had the Monte Carlo type stock with the cheek piece and the Model D had a straight style butt stock. I've had examples of both Model D & Es in European calibers, like 7x57, etc., and factory historical letters for same said they were made for sales in Europe in the Post Exchange stores of American Military bases.
