Model s&w 64

Recently found my 64 no dash with tapered barrel from a local fellow. I had to do a fair amount of "fluffin & buffin" to get it looking presentable, but she is a great shooter even before I cleaned her up!:D

My 64 looking pretty with my 67-1...

I've got the 2,3, and 4" Model 64s. The all are good shooters. The 4' is easily the best shooting revolver I have ever owned. Mine came from J&G sales for $239 which with a little polish and a Wolff ribbed main spring put me in revolver heaven . J&G currently has several batches of them although the prices have now gone up a little. J&G is a good place to shop ... honest and helpful.

I've got a 3" 64-3 and a 4" J&G 64-5.

That J&G 64 has a trigger as good or better than my pre lock PC revolvers. It is a tack driver. Best gun money that I ever spent!

If you are debating a 64, get one of those J&G revolvers while they still have some. You will be very glad you did! Regards 18DAI.

I love my no-dash 64. I wanted a tapered barrel and it took a long time to find a reasonably priced one. This, along with a no-dash 67, are my two favorite revolvers.

Very nice! My 2 m64s are LEO trades that I picked up at local gun shows - one is a DAO and the other is a standard SA/DA - I really enjoy both of them. I do have my eyes out for a nice 3" version next though.

Somewhere over the last several weeks, one of the gun-related sites I visit had a posting about the world's most attractive handguns, or something like that, and your photograph reminds me that there are few handguns in the world as beautifully balanced - as just damned well proportioned - as a 3" S&W K frame.

I wish I had one. I may have to start hunting for one. It just looks right.

Yours should be a no-dash Model 64. The -1 was a special .357 magnum version, the -2 is the 2" barrel version with the new gas ring and the -3 is the 4" heavy barrel version with the new gas ring. So... the 4" heavy barrel version went from a no-dash (beginning in 1973 with the heavy 4" barrel) to a -3 (beginning in 1977 with the heavy 4" barrel as far as I can tell.

Thanks photoman44. Here is a picture of what I saw.
