So, after approx 1500 rounds I decided to clean out my A-TEC Modular Moderator. I guess I can see the advantage of shooting without a Mod.

I mostly shoot Hollow Point Lead Nosed Subs, tho have to say wasn't expecting the crud build up I found. :(

Flannelette is standard issue 4" X 2" cleaning flannelette issue for 7.62 cleaning, thought it would make it easy to see how much there was.....

Maybe a little more regular clean out me thinks, horrible waxy crud!!!!!

Rob

Really is amazing how much crud builds up over such little time with these little 22's.

Maybe after every 500 rounds would be better :)

I'm thinking make it part of my cleaning routine post firing. :D

Don't you just love the waxy ammo! I don't get anywhere near this much mess with my .223 - having said that if I shot as much through my .223 as my Smith I wouldn't have any money left to live on!

Decent article (link below) on moderators, especially storage and the damage that can be done to your barrel - hope it's of interest and/or help to anyone.

Sorry about that guys!

When you take the pond and language use in to account I can see where it would be confusing.

What's on the flannelette is what WAS cleared out of Phil after his little drinky!!!!! :D

Sorry Phil only tweaking !!!

If that is so, then someone has pipes a lot shorter than the rest of us.....

(And quieter, too, I 'spose.)
