Modern 'popular' h/g's that DON'T interest you?

I have little interest in a hand held AR or the Rossi Ranch hand, lever action pistol.

Yeah, but nobody really uses an AR pistol, do they? I expect that almost everyone attaches a "brace" and that changes everything.

The Rossi Ranch Hand has morphed into the Chiappa Mare's Leg. "Mare's Leg" is the correct name for the gun because that's what Josh Randall called it in "Wanted: Dead or Alive". Josh Randall actually being Steve McQueen, it is something of a mortal sin to be critical of his guns; he's nearly equal to Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, depending on your point of view.

Not to be outdone, Henry Repeating Arms makes a "Mare's Leg", too, and gives credit where credit is due.

The Smith sickness is new for me and borderline terminal. A pre M14 was just delivered this afternoon. I like older guns when quality meant something. The fit and finish on these is excellent and my Smiths go from 22LR to 44 Mag.
IMHO a gun should be blued steel and walnut and the nicer the walnut the better.
I like the older calibers also. I can do anything with a 300 H&H you can do with a 300 WSM. My gunsmith cringed when we were working out the details for a custom #1 when I said I wanted it in 300 Savage.
My shotguns are all SXS and the newest one is 80 years old and I prefer a hammer gun for sporting clays and quail.
I consider myself a "classic" and like classic guns in classic calibers.
The picture is of Gunner, my little buddy of 15 years and a custom Parker 20ga dedicated to him.
I apologize for getting off track.

Great picture...nice dog and a very nice shotgun! I like them both! Thanks for sharing...

I recall some fella on the YouBOob a while back that posted his 'stock' to put a full length of pull on one. Basically, he created a pocket at the front end of a cut-down 'normal' stock to nestle the butt-end into. Nothing that latched, or anything, just an slip-on extender. Then, the comments quickly pointed to the err of his ways in doing so, LOL

Glocks while they are great functioning guns don't do a thing for me. I have exactly two polymer guns. I bought a Springfield xd9 sub compact that I feel blends the best of both Glock's and 1911's. I bought the then new Ruger lcp because I felt that was as good as a pocket auto could get still think it is. While both of these are great guns they are not pretty. my Smith, and the few Colts I own are.

I have a particular loathing for all striker fired plastic automatics with double-action-only triggers. No matter how much the latest and greatest they are said to be I lump 'em all together and dismiss them as inferior junk. I'm gleefully getting trough my life without making use of the wonders of crummy plastic pistols.

"I just glad that ice cream is made in both chocolate and vanilla!"

Da' make ice cream in chocolate?? Why I aint's never herd of such a thing. What is this world coming to? Next thing youse guys is gonna tell me is they make guns out'a plastic.

I gots me one of them fancy guns what you load on Sunday and shoot one round every day and it's m/t on the 8th day. 'dat's about as fancy as I wanna get. I'm here to tells youse guys, dat fella what invented dat gun 'e was a right fancy geni's. :) Chocolate ice cream and plastic guns, country go'n strat ta 'ell.

"lovely to look at and 'thrilling' to hold"...

BE Mike, Fred and Ginger would be proud that you still remember them. :)

I don't have one, but the Beretta 92X Compact with Rail sounds interesting.

I'm not a fan of plastic framed guns. I think Glocks are hideous looking.

If you think the Sig P320 triggers are dangerous, you've been watching too many old internet hero videos.:) I own three Sig P320's. No worries here.

As a Life Member of SNM-Sons of Neanderthal Man, I am strictly a steel and walnut man, though rubber grips look great on nickel and stainless. Nothing with polymer, aluminum, "exotic" frames, no "safe" actions or triggers-my safety is behind the eyes and between the ears.
Rubber grips look great on motorcycles, not pistols.....imho😊

A while back, wanted to try a 40 and a Glock.
Tried one, never really warmed up to either.
Passed it down to my Son.
Recently got the urge for a Lead Spitter.
The older model Glocks never fit my hand either, but it's Slim Time in Glock-Land.
The 43 felt just fine! Clerk Lady - She say, try this 43x. Yes!
So I bought a Glock 43x.
Just yesterday got a 500 round box of 9mm at Cabela's.
Wanted some more 380 but no Joy!
