Modified .32-20 Shipped 1926 - Service sights converted to Target UPDATE SEE POST #24

I am curious to know if the rear sight is elevation AND windage adjustable.
Hard to tell from the photo.

The anticipation is reaching another level.

A close look at the square notch in the rear sight?? Looks to me like one (or another) of the two screw heads might obstruct the sight picture,,, if it isn’t windage adjustable.

I can’t believe the SIZE of all the screw heads. Then I wonder if they are “real” and are actually threaded into the barrel and frame,, or just show.
The underside of the rail?? and the work on the frame (if any) ?? Is what has captured my imagination. Far beyond my ability for sure,, but “form follows function”

Great photos, Tom. To my untrained eye, that vent rib looks custom made as if a machinist used a mill to cut out the vents as oposed to manufactured like Micro might have made. Very interesting and excellent workmanship.

Randy,

I agree 100% that this appears to be the work of a trained machinist, but not a company such as King, Marbles, etc.

I think making some sort of elevation adjustment would be possible with a redesigned rear sight blade.

But pretty cool sight just as it is.

Really like this revolver!
I like the original stocks..... they are svelte....but like those Herret stocks.
Are they plastic or wood, and where did you get them?

The stocks shown in my first post are incorrect, they are much later production.

The Herrett's are wood, not plastic.....They are commonly found on sites like eBay, GunBroker, etc.

I like it, the vent rib is nice touch. With that quality of work you would think that they would have opted for fully adjustable rear sight.

A fully adjustable rear sight would have made it just about perfect.

I may be able to modify the rear sight with the help of a machinist friend someday down the road.
