I'm sure this has been covered before, but things change. Ammo is so scarce I went with some Monarch 9mm (brass, not steel). Is that stuff still as filthy as it was? At this point I don't care, I just needed some range ammo. I remember a few years ago it was some dirty stuff...accurate though.

I've bought a bunch of it from Academy during the past 3-4 weeks at $11.00 per box (limit of 5 boxes per trip) but haven't shot any of it yet. Hope it is OK. It is Serbian mfg, same as Prvi. I have shot a bunch of Prvi and it has been fine and no dirtier than other brands.

I shoot it a lot, Brass and Steel. It shoots fine. Its no dirtier than Winchester white box. I clean my guns after a hundred rounds anyway.

Good ammo, I've fired several hundred of both steel case and brass case with no malfunctions.

for a while all you could find in Houston was steel case Monarch at Academy - I have 1000 rds on shelf if I ever need - used some in steel and brass - both worked as well as domestic brands - the steel case is a lot softer than an extractor anyway

I have used the steel and brass in several calibers with no problems. It shot with more accuracy thru my Mini 14 than the Remington I had at the time.
