Money

We watch a show some of you might like. It's called Wheeler Dealers. On one season one of the guys traveled all over the world flipping cars. His goal was to start off with just a little money and end up with a Super Car. The one thing he noticed every where he went to do business on the planet the currency of choice was the U.S. $100 bill. That's all he used and all anybody wanted. So, like a few other posters, if anybody gets antsy, I'd love to get in on the discount dollars sale.

Love Wheeler Dealers. One of the very few "reality" shows where no one's shouting at someone else, and you don't have to strain to hear the commentary over bad background music. I like Dream Cars on the Science Channel, but I have to mute the sound and turn on closed captioning to watch it.

I'm wondering what the sources are for the original poster's reading material. ;)

I don't know what is going to happen but those that think the dollar will always be top dog better guess again. Look at Cypress if you want an idea what could happen here.
I was at the bank yesterday and asked how much money does a bank usually have on hand. She said it varies depending on size of the bank and I said how about an average or ball park figure. She said in a small town bank it might only be $100 to $200 thousand on hand.
So say the bank has 10 depositors with 20 grand in the bank then there goes that on hand money. If you think FDIC will take care of you then you better realize the FDIC can't cover but a small fraction of bank deposits.
People say you can't eat silver or gold. Well you go ahead and eat your paper currency and remember a hundred dollar bill is no more filling than a one dollar bill.
When is it going to happen? We little folk will not know till the bank locks its doors. If anyone expects the news media to even mention a coming collapse then you better guess again because you will only know when your bank locks the doors. Of course this is all speculation if it ever even happens.
Yep there are a lot of survival items being pushed with every doom and gloom article. That still doesn't mean it will not happen or the article is hogwash.

Not sure what this means..A small company an hour's drive from my home was doing business with 2 employees a few years back. Their business took off like a rocket and they had dozens that turned into multiple dozens of workers. So big they ran 3 shifts to fill HUGE warehouses. This past Friday they laid off 115 workers and announced there would be more to come. Oh, their business was manufacturing and packaging MREs. Think that might mean anything????

Could be the huge orders have been filled and the company couldn't sustain on the trickle in tiny orders they are getting now.
Look at Colt. Put most of your eggs in one or a few baskets might just backfire. HMM Maybe like having a squib?

Your MRE company didn't get a contract renewal.
Happens all the time in the Gov contract business.
The contract could have gone to somebody else, or we didn't need any MREs right now, or any number of other reasons.
When a company only has one customer and its Uncle Sam,
They are working without a net!

I hears that since 2012, the Government has secretly been using a special ink to print $20, $50, and $100 bills. This ink has a predetermined shelf life. On 9-30-16, bills printed with this ink will fade to blank, leaving the bills worthless squares of paper. This process is said to generate a lot of heat, and to reduce the risk of fire, it is recommended that you empty your wallet, and place all such bills outside your home the night before..

I know this is true.

I was having a few drinks last night with Jake, my dog, and he told me...

Investing heavily in the metals with my cash, lead, copper & zinc. They may not be like cash, gold or silver, but i love having lead and brass around as it is a way to put away wealth as it is in demand by some and I think will be in more demand in the future. Cost very little to keep around and has great usage for S&W owners.

We cannot continue with a $20 trillion debt and zero interest.
Something will give sometime. We have never been in
this territory before. Never. Zero interest for 8 years.
$20 debt. Never before.

Is this 30 Sept. date going to be just like all of the predictions which were going to happen when Y2K (1 Jan. 2000) occurred?

Why worry, the dollar has already lost 97% of its value. What's another 3%.

Silver and gold is real money, always has been ;).
