My brother, nephew and I are planning a fly fishing trip to Montana in July. Part of the trip will be in Big Sky (Gallatin River) and part in Ennis (Madison). We were in Ennis 14 years ago and stayed at Madison Valley Ranch when it was small and affordable. Now that I am retired and looking for a more economical place to stay. El Western and Rainbow Valley Lodge were recommended to me by a former guide there who lives in Bozeman now.

Has anyone stayed at either of these two places or at the Riverside Motel. If so which would you recomend.

I'm sure there are flyfishing forums...maybe try there.

I'm on the Missouri between Wolf Creek/Craig and Hardy Creek. Blue Ribbon stretch. Do a search on You Tube, quite a few videos showing the area.

I can help You out HERE , but I know nothing about Ennis.

Lots of access here, but of course a Guide with a boat IS the deal.

Good fishing especially late season with everything from small Tricos to #4 Hoppers.

Thanks - Went ahead and booked at Rainbow Valley Lodge. Nice folks there from my conversation on phone.

I am 50 Miles N and there are a ton of campgrounds but not a lot of Motels. Get what ever you get early, or you'll be driving from Bozo.
