....exercising your vocabulary make you an effete snob? I enjoy finding the right word to use in a sentence, sometimes for humorous effect. If I can't find the right word, I'll make one up.:)

If someone doesn't know what 'detritus' is, there's nothing wrong with learning.

I resolve to never use obtuse verbiage when diminutive terms suffice.
 
Not a book but Star Trek character Harcourt Fenton Mudd was my favorite in the 60's.
 
First thing to pop into my mind was Winnie the Pooh. What is a Pooh?

On a side note he called Butterfly's "Flutter bys" witch makes a lot more sense than butterfly. Maybe we've been saying it wrong? Pretty smart bear.
