Is there a way to be sure that the grip that you are looking at is a real mother of pearl grip?

I can provide much better photo if that will help.

Get them wet. Genuine MOP will get less slippery when wet while plastic will get more slippery.
It's also heavier than plastic. With some practice, you can spot the difference a mile away.

MOP is heavier like ctg4570 says and when you handle the real pearl as you casually shuffle the two together they sound like heavy glass clicking together. It's a very dense material. Plastic sounds dull.

Mother of Pearl,,,,or Mother of Plastic,,,,,,

Just looking at a picture is very tough to tell as some of the synthetic material is very good.

Are those for a Spanish Star/llama or are they Colt??

They fit a Colt 380 government. Based on what you guys have described, I think they're real. The "wet" trick was very cool.:)

If they are real what would they be worth?
