On the menu for today:

A chuck roast that's been marinading in a zip lock bag since Thursday.

Marinade: Cheap burgundy wine with chopped garlic, onions and olive oil.

_____

Baked potato:

medium/largish potato cut in half with butter, fresh chopped onions with chopped fresh bell peppers, a sprinkle of seasoned salt and black pepper in the middle.

_____

Corn:

Corn on the cob with butter wrapped in foil

_____

I'll stop by the pizza place that sells the fresh salad that my mom loves.

All cooked/smoked on a Webber grill.

_____

There will also be a bowl of fresh cilantro salsa.

My mouth is watering just thinking about the goodness I'm about to cook!

I'm going to fire up the grill.

You all have a great Mother's Day!

Steaks on the grill w/ sauteed mushrooms , baked potatoes w/ butter and sour cream, marinated/roasted brussel sprouts and broccoli...... wine.

Nap.................................

Apple pie later

My wife picked one of THE WORST possible cut for grilling, eye round roast sliced 1" thick.
Soaked in beer for an hour while covered in kosher salt, garlic and onion powder with a touch of Italian seasoning I didn't use enough coals to get the good sear but at barely medium rare they were tasty and not chewy at all.
Scalloped taters and a fresh spinach, onion and mater salad with grilled garlic bread topped off the meal.

Re: Mother's Day cooking for my Mom. Those of you with the wonderful opportunity to cook for your mother are so fortunate! If your wife is anywhere remotely close, hopefully you made Mother's Day special for her. Sincerely. bruce.
