I don't think that is oxidation. I can't recall if the -6 has MIM. If you look at my -7, it has the MIM hammer and trigger and looks just like yours. Mine has a frame mounted FP while yours is on the hammer nose.
Perhaps not oxidation, but it ain't pretty. The trigger and hammer are not MIM, but it has the new style thumbpiece. Notice the old frame style with cylinder stop stud. The backstrap is serrated. I have the original blue plastic box. Product code 130045, date code 6093 (April 1996), serial CAY0677.
