Just picked up a 386sc with a Crimson Trace, what a cool gun. My question is why did S&W stop making this gun? Was it low sales or problems with the durability. It does kick with 357's but I shoot/carry a Kel Tec P40, so it dosen't bother me. Are the Ti Cyl. a problem?

The titanium cylinder is not a problem, read the manual on how to handle/clean it and you will be fine. Titanium is lightweight and very strong and in my opinion a fine material.

I would suspect that low sales numbers was the reason Smith ended the Mountain Lite 386. I have one that I turned into my ideal carry gun and enjoy it quite a bit. Enjoy yours, shoot it and carry it...

I have had the Big Brother to your 386 SC for 10+ years and love it. Mine is the 396 Mountain Lite ... in .44 Special. Use Buffalo Bore's "Heavy 44 Special" load with 255 gr. hardcast at 1000 fps. Been an excellent woods carry gun, with no problems.
